General information about the ingredients used in this supplement product:

(This is NOT product specific and is only listed as educational material)

Carnitine is the common expression for the compound L-carnitine. Carnitine is not an amino acid in the exacting sense, but because of its chemical structure, it's generally classified from the amino acids. Carnitine is a derivative from the amino acids discovered in practically all the cells from the body. Carnitine is associated with the B vitamins and is also known as vitamin BT. The main role of Carnitine is to transport the fatty acids to the cells - the mitochondria, where they are transformed to energy. It is a major source of energy for the muscles, including the heart muscles.

Functions of L-Glutamine:

Carnitine helps to increase the use of fat as an energy source. Carnitine also helps to carry fatty acids across mitochondrial membranes, assisting in their oxidation and ensuing energy production through the citric acid cycle. Fatty acid binds towards carnitine molecule to type acyl-carnitine. Carnitine averts fat buildup inside the heart, liver, and skeletal muscles and keeps a check over the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides inside the blood.

Symptoms of L-Glutamine Deficiency:

Primary carnitine deficiency stops the human body from using fats for energy. Carnitine deficiency can be linked to feeling weak right after slight exercise. It also leads to hypoketosis, muscle aches, fatty liver and myopathy. Deficiency of Carnitine can lead to hypoglycemia, hyperammonaemia, hepatomegaly, cardiomyopathy. Deficiency can trigger rapidly progressive heart failure, proximal muscular weakness of varying degree, exercise intolerance, or myalgia.

Good Food Sources of L-Glutamine:

L-Carnitine is primarily present in animal based foods like chicken, fish, eggs, dairy products, beef, and pork. Vegetarian foods like dried black beans, northern beans, kidney beans, white beans, and red beans, peas, soy, nuts, rice, seeds with legumes are also sources of Carnitine.
